I Vanilla Sky sono una delle band più giovani e promettenti del panorama alternative italiano. Il progetto è partito nel marzo 2002 tra quattro ventenni provenienti da località sparse del Lazio, con la voglia di suonare musica affine al pop-punk americano: ritmica serrata, chitarre distorte e ritornelli di facile memorizzazione. Dopo pochi mesi di prove in sala nel luglio 2002 vengono incisi i primi pezzi, nel box auto di uno di loro, completamente autoprodotti. Dal novembre 2002 la band accompagna l'uscita del cd- demo (le quali copie vengono esaurite in 2 mesi) con concerti promozionali con gruppi emergenti della scena italiana. Nel gennaio 2003 entrano a far parte della Wynona Records, e, dopo 3 mesi, viene pubblicato Too Loud 4 You: uno split tra 4 bands (vanilla sky, forty winks, halfway home (USA) e andthewinneris(DE)), distribuito in tutta Europa. Lo stesso*split (ma con 1 brano inedito a gruppo e una band in più: i Potential Gateway Driver) esce anche in Giappone per Ambience Records, intitolato “The Rest Is History”. Durante l'estate il gruppo lavora per 2 mesi alle registrazioni del disco “ Waiting for something ”, che uscirà in Italia, Germania, Austria, Svizzera, Francia, Inghilterra, Giappone e Argentina. A seguito della pubblicazione la band parte in tour suonando per più di due anni in tutto il mondo, dividendo il palco con band del calibro degli Offspring (in Germania), dei +44 (la nuova band di Trevis e Mark dei Blink182 con cui hanno suonato in Germania, Italia e Austria), con i Maxeen (Side one Dummy records), Ataris (Sony); ma suonando anche da soli praticamente in tutta Europa (in Italia hanno partecipato a Festival come Independent Day, Eastpak Rock Festival e RockInIdro) e addirittura in Giappone. E ora è il momento dei cambiamenti, "CHANGES" il nuovo album sarà disponibile dall'8 Giugno 2007, l'album registrato tra Roma e Venezia (il missaggio è stato fatto al Family Studio, dove anche Le Vibrazioni hanno lavorato per il loro ultimo album) mostra i tanti cambiamenti avvenuti, quello più evidente è il passaggio alla Universal, ma molti altri vi aspettano quando ascolterete il cd.

• 24.10.08 VANILLA SKY TV EPISODIO 15. Vi piacciono le storie vere? Eccone una. In questo episodio scoprirete un lato segreto di Vinx. Lui si tuffa per soldi. E vedrete anche un'insolita conversazione in ascensore tra Luca e il cantante dei Misfits, tutto questo e molto altro nell'episodio 15 della loro TV.
